I’ve been a professional writer for over thirty years, counting my first paying gig writing high school news notes for the local paper. My portfolio can best be described as “eclectic.”
I won my first writing contest with an essay about peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches. Since then I’ve written on a wide range topics including Chinese reform movements, missile proliferation, 3D printing, TV shows, why I love audio books and why I hate Gone With the Wind. I've written intelligence products for the CIA, historical fiction for Penguin Putnam, catalog copy, website content, corporate reports, due diligence investigations, and blogs.
I love writing and I love working with writers. I've coached intelligence analysts, professional writers, aspiring writers and students of all ages.
I hold a Master's degree the John's Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor's degree from Williams College.
